The sad part about this whole thing is I/we always need to come up with some incentive for teams to try to win.  From what I heard around here just winning isn't enough. In my 5 or so years of playing OOTP I have never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever not tried to win every game that I could.

How about a return to the WBH?  We have three equal divisions of 6 teams and a champions league of 6 teams.  The winner of each division is promoted to the Champion's league and the bottom three teams from that league are relegated in some kind of fashion which allows for random distribution.  If we still want to have a 25th GM he could have his pick of the three bottom teams in the three lower divisions.

No thanks...it's been done and last I heard it's still going so if you want that format I'm sure they'll take you.

This is not a bad idea either.
