Thursday, April 1st, 2004: Today the active roster capacity rises to 50. Managers, scouts and GMs will confer about the new mix, considering promotions and demotions in an effort to comprise the right combination to arrive at the playoffs. At that point Secondary Echelon rosters will require staff cuts to return to their usual size.

| SE2 News: Spring Training Begins
Thursday, April 1st, 2004: Starting with the arrival of pitchers and catchers, followed by the rest of the club's entourage of players, coaches, medical staff and front office personnel, the spring training circus is ramping up. And a circus it will be, with fans from all across The United States flocking to training facilities in a rare chance to see their heroes and future stars mingle and put on an exhibition show unlike any other. Opening Day is not far off.

 | Star 2B López Settles on Oxford
Friday, March 12th, 2004: The Scholars pulled out all the stops today to announce the signing of second baseman Albert López. The 32-year-old is one of the game's preeminent playmakers and has definitely proven why he was such an attractive signing.
The contract is a 4-year deal worth $38,000,000.
During his career López has compiled a .313 batting average and collected 267 hits, 21 home runs and 127 RBIs.
